SkyLife South Africa Hosts Successful Inaugural Charity Soccer Tournament in Seodin
This past weekend marked the beginning of something truly special as SkyLife South Africa proudly hosted its inaugural Charity Soccer Tournament at Manchester Sports Ground in Seodin, bringing together football, community spirit, and a shared purpose — raising funds for Oreokame in his courageous fight against cancer.
What was initially planned for 2–3 May had to be postponed due to heavy rainfall that left the playing grounds unfit for competition. While the delay was unfortunate, it only built anticipation for what would become an unforgettable weekend of football action on 9–10 May.
Eight Teams, One Cause
The tournament welcomed eight passionate teams from the community, all competing not only for victory but for a meaningful cause.
The participating teams were:
Diphala Social Club
47 Stars
Manyora
Seodin
Chesa Mpama
Diski 101
Mekwepa
B2B
From the opening match, the energy was undeniable. Supporters gathered in numbers, creating an exciting and vibrant atmosphere filled with cheers, chants, laughter, and competitive spirit. Families, football lovers, and community members all came together to witness a tournament that proved sport can be a powerful force for change.
A Weekend of Thrilling Football
Over the course of two action-packed days, teams battled through intense fixtures, showcasing determination, talent, and heart. Every match carried its own drama, keeping spectators engaged throughout the tournament.
Sunday’s final day brought a brief challenge as strong winds disrupted play momentarily, but even nature could not dampen the spirit of the event.
After an exciting tournament run, the final came down to Diphala Social Club and Diski 101 in a highly anticipated showdown. Both teams delivered an entertaining and competitive performance, but in the end, Diphala Social Club emerged victorious as the inaugural champions of the SkyLife South Africa Charity Tournament.
More Than Just Football
While the tournament delivered incredible sporting moments, its deeper purpose remained at the heart of the event.
This initiative was created to support Oreokame, and SkyLife South Africa remains committed to encouraging continued donations toward his medical journey.

Building a Legacy in Seodin
This tournament marks the beginning of what SkyLife South Africa intends to establish as an annual charity sporting event rooted in Seodin Block F — an initiative designed to unite the community while making a tangible impact through sport.
Looking ahead to 2027, the vision is even bigger.
Teams from broader communities will be invited to participate, with enhanced rewards including:
A custom championship trophy
Full team kits
Winner’s medals
Bigger opportunities and experiences
SkyLife South Africa also extends an open invitation to companies, brands, sponsors, and organisations interested in partnering with this growing initiative to help expand its impact and reach.
Thank You to the Community
SkyLife South Africa would like to sincerely thank every team, supporter, volunteer, attendee, and contributor who made the inaugural tournament a success.
Your energy, time, and support turned a simple idea into a memorable movement.
This was more than just a football tournament.
It was community.
It was hope.
It was purpose.
And this is only the beginning.
See you next year.
